Itinerary
Day 1: Bangkok – Bang Pa-In – Ayutthaya (L)
Depart Bangkok in the morning and travel north to the elegant summer retreat of the Thai royal family. Visit Bang Pa-In Royal Palace, also known as the Summer Palace, Bang Pa-In features a unique blend of Thai, Chinese, and European architectural styles. Wander through beautifully landscaped gardens, picturesque lakes, and ornate royal residences that have served Thai monarchs for centuries. Continue to the ancient capital of Ayutthaya, once one of the wealthiest and most powerful cities in Asia and now recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Visit Wat Mahathat, explore the temple famous for its iconic Buddha head entwined within the roots of a banyan tree, one of Thailand’s most photographed historical landmarks. Visit Wat Phra Si Sanphet, the former royal temple of the Ayutthaya Kingdom, renowned for its three majestic bell-shaped chedis that symbolize the grandeur of the ancient capital. Visit: Wat Chaiwatthanaram, located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, this stunning Khmer-style temple offers some of the most impressive architecture in Ayutthaya.Visit Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon, admire the towering chedi built to commemorate a historic military victory and enjoy views over the temple grounds from the upper terrace.
After a full day of sightseeing, check in to your hotel and enjoy a relaxing evening in Ayutthaya.
Overnight in Ayutthaya
Day 2: Ayutthaya – Lopburi – Sukhothai (B, L)
After breakfast, continue north toward the historic city of Lopburi. Visit Phra Prang Sam Yot, this iconic Khmer sanctuary is famous for its three prangs and the playful monkeys that have become symbols of the city. Visit King Narai’s Palace, explore the former royal residence of King Narai the Great, who transformed Lopburi into an important political and diplomatic center during the 17th century.
After lunch, continue through the fertile plains of central Thailand toward Sukhothai. Arrive in Thailand’s first capital and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Sukhothai is considered the birthplace of Thai art, architecture, and culture.
Highlights within Sukhothai Historical Park:
Wat Mahathat – the spiritual center of the ancient kingdom.
Wat Sa Si – beautifully situated on an island surrounded by lotus ponds.
Wat Si Sawai – an impressive temple influenced by Khmer architecture.

Overnight in Sukhothai
Day 3: Sukhothai – Lampang – Chiang Mai (B, L)
Begin the day with further exploration of Sukhothai before heading north to Chiang Mai. Visit Wat Si Chum, home to the magnificent seated Buddha known as Phra Achana, one of the most revered and photographed images in Thailand.
Depart Sukhothai and continue north through scenic countryside and mountain landscapes. Visit Wat Phra That Lampang Luang, one of the finest examples of traditional Lanna architecture in northern Thailand. This sacred temple complex features beautifully preserved wooden buildings, ancient murals, and a peaceful atmosphere.
After lunch, continue to Chiang Mai. Upon arrival in Chiang Mai, visit Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, perched on a mountainside overlooking the city, this sacred temple offers breathtaking panoramic views and houses one of Thailand’s most important Buddhist relics.
Tour concludes in Chiang Mai.
