Itinerary

Day 1:

• Start the day early in Chiang Mai and head towards Chiang Rai, which is approximately a 3-hour drive. 

• First, make our way to the famous White Temple, known as Wat Rong Khun. It’s a unique and stunning architectural masterpiece. Spend some time exploring the temple and admiring its intricate design.

• After visiting the White Temple, continue to the Blue Temple, also known as Wat Rong Suea Ten. This temple features vibrant blue colors and beautiful artwork. Take your time to appreciate the serene atmosphere and capture some memorable photos.

• Next, head to the Black House Museum, also called Baan Dam Museum. It’s a collection of unconventional art pieces and structures designed by the national artist Thawan Duchanee. Explore the dark and intriguing exhibits that showcase traditional Thai craftsmanship.

• Afterward, visit Wat Huay Plakang, which is located on a hill. This temple offers breathtaking views of the surrounding area. Marvel at the giant statue of the Goddess of Mercy and take a moment for peaceful reflection.

• Drive to Singha Park, a picturesque agricultural park located in the outskirts of Chiang Rai. Enjoy the beautiful landscapes, lush greenery, and serene lakes. You can also indulge in some outdoor activities like cycling or take a relaxing walk around the park.

• After a day of exploration, check-in to your accommodation in Chiang Rai and relax for the night.

Day 2:

• Begin your second day by visiting Doi Tung Flower Garden, located in Mae Fah Luang district. It’s a beautiful hillside garden filled with a variety of colorful flowers. Take leisurely walks, enjoy the fragrant blossoms, and capture stunning photographs.

• From there, we will make our way to Ban Pa Hee, a traditional Akha tribal village, here you can have some local coffee at one of many cafes in the village and enjoy the picturesque landscapes.

• Continue your journey to Mae Sai, the northernmost point of Thailand. Explore the bustling market and experience the vibrant cross-border trade between Thailand and Myanmar. 

• Finally, head to the Golden Triangle, where the borders of Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos meet. Take in the panoramic views of the Mekong River and learn about the historical significance of the region. 

• After exploring the Golden Triangle, we will start our journey back to Chiang Mai, which will take approximately 4 hours. Arrive in Chiang Mai by evening, concluding your memorable trip to Chiang Rai.

Note: It is possible to finish your trip in Chiang Rai City in case you prefer to stay longer in Chiang Rai or at Chiang Rai Airport if you have a plan to go to Bangkok or other destinations.
